Product Care Guide

At IN MY NATURE, we build apparel engineered to endure outdoor elements, training, and everyday exploration. Proper care not only extends the performance life of your gear but also reduces environmental impact.

1-How to Wash:
Proper washing preserves fabric integrity, technical water-repellent coatings, and visual detail.
1.1- Pre-Wash Preparation:
- Fasten all zippers, snaps, and hook-and-loop (velcro) closures to prevent snagging.
- Turn garments inside out to protect surface finishes, screen prints, and embroidered details.
1.2- Water Temperature: Machine wash cold (30°C / 86°F or lower) on a delicate or gentle cycle.
1.3- Detergent: Use a mild, eco-friendly liquid detergent.
1.4-Things to Avoid:
- No Fabric Softeners: Softeners coat functional fibers, reducing breathability and destroying moisture-wicking and water-repellent (DWR) properties.
- No Bleach: Avoid chlorine and harsh chemical stain removers, which weaken fibers and cause discoloration.
- Do Not Overload: Wash with similar colors and like fabrics to reduce friction in the drum.

2-How to Dry:
Air drying is gentlest on your clothes and healthiest for the planet.
2.1- Air Dry (Recommended): Hang dry or lay flat on a drying rack in a well-ventilated space out of direct sunlight. Direct UV exposure can fade colors and degrade elastane over time.
2.2- Tumble Dry (Low Heat Only): If using a dryer, select tumble dry low / delicate. Remove promptly once dry.
2.3- Technical Outerwear Care: For water-repellent jackets or pants, a brief 10–15 minute tumble dry on low heat after air drying helps reactivate the Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish.
2.4- Do Not Wring Out: Never tightly wring or twist heavy fleece or technical garments, as this distorts seam stitching and garment shape.

3-How to Iron & Steam:
3.1- Steaming (Best & Safest Method): Garment steamers are the ideal choice for smoothing out wrinkles on heavyweight cotton, hoodies, and technical fabrics without risking fabric scorch.
3.2- Ironing Guidelines:
- Use the lowest heat setting (Synthetic / Cool iron, ~110°C / 230°F).
- Iron garments inside out.
- Use a thin cotton pressing cloth between the iron plate and the garment for added protection.
3.3- CRITICAL CAUTION: Never iron directly over graphic prints, heat transfers, seam-sealed tapes, or technical membranes. Direct iron heat will melt rubberized logos and ruin waterproof linings.

4-Care Guidelines by Fabric Type:
Heavyweight Fleece & Hoodies
- Wash: Cold wash inside out with similar heavy cottons.
- Dry: Lay flat to dry or tumble dry low. High heat will shrink natural cotton fibers and coarsen fleece interiors.
- Iron: Steam from a slight distance; avoid pressing down on ribbed cuffs and hems.
Technical Pants & Shells (DWR / Waterproof)
- Wash: Use specialized tech-wash for breathable/waterproof fabrics. Do not use household detergents with optical brighteners.
- Dry: Line dry, followed by low-heat tumble dry for 10 minutes to revive water resistance.
- Iron: Do not iron unless using a press cloth on the lowest setting for DWR reactivation.
Activewear & Base Layers
- Wash: Wash immediately after intense workouts to prevent odor lock. Do not leave damp in a gym bag.
- Dry: Air dry in shade; synthetic moisture-wicking fabrics dry rapidly without a machine dryer.

5-Storage & Maintenance:
5.1- Off-Season Storage: Store clean, completely dry garments in a cool, dry place. Damp storage leads to mildew and membrane degradation.
5.2- Hanging vs. Folding: Hang technical jackets and shells on padded or wide hangers; fold heavy fleece and hoodies to prevent shoulder stretching.
5.3- Spot Cleaning: Small mud or dirt spots on technical fabrics can often be brushed off once dry or cleaned with a wet sponge and cold water.
